What’s The Deal With Obama?

In view of President Obama’s inability to oversee the managing of America’s budget problems I can’t help but wonder what his problem is.  On one hand I wonder if he’s a Flaming Socialist and on the other I ask myself if he’s reached his Peter Principle?

I believe we all know what a Socialist is.  A Flaming Socialist is just an enhanced version of your average run of the mill Socialist.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Peter Principle, consider reading the book of the same name by Professor Lawrence J. Peter.   In the book, Professor Peter discusses how people reach what he calls their level of incompetence.  For example, a Vice President of a corporation, may be super at his Vice President position but when he becomes President of the company, he can’t seem to handle it.  He is unsuccessful.  The Presidential position would be his level of incompetence.  For some, their level of incompetence may be far below the level of President of a company.

I would say Obama reached his level of incompetence when he became a legislator in Illinois.  I base that on all the “Present” votes he made while a member of the Illinois legislature.  Apparently he just did not have the ability to make up his mind on many issues.  His gift of gab or ability to B.S.,  if you will, camouflaged his incompetence and he was able to convince the people of Illinois to make him a United States Senator.

Obama’s ability to give a good speech fooled the majority of Americans so well that he was able to talk his way into the Oval Office.  Now we have a talker for President who has no idea how to handle the economy.  Surprisingly, even many in the normally Obama friendly media are beginning to wonder what the hell he’s doing.  Or, is that,  what he’s not doing?  The man who received a thrill up his leg from Obama,  Chris Mathews, is wondering why Obama hasn’t put ….an economic plan on the table?  Apparently, for Chris, the thrill is gone.

In a recent New York Times article, Drew Weston, made a comment that I and many other Conservatives thought when he announced his candidacy:  Those of us who were bewitched by his eloquence on the campaign trail chose to ignore some disquieting aspects of his biography: that he had accomplished very little before he ran for president, having never run a business or a state; that he had a singularly unremarkable career as a law professor, publishing nothing in 12 years at the University of Chicago other than an autobiography; and that, before joining the United States Senate, he had voted “present” (instead of “yea” or “nay”) 130 times, sometimes dodging difficult issues.”  Whoa!  Suddenly the love is gone!

Think back, President Obama has done virtually nothing in the way of correcting America’s fiscal problems.  He rammed through Obama care telling us it would save us money.  This is simply not true.  Obama, Reid and Pelosi played a game with the cost figure.  They told us it would cost under a trillion dollars.  If I remember correctly they said it would cost something like 984 billion dollars.  They managed to get it under a Trillion dollars by taxing for it for 4 years before it ultimately goes into effect.  They are building a fund to draw from for the following 6 years, thus keeping it (supposedly) under the 1 trillion dollar threshold.   After it passed we were made aware of other costs and that it would be 1.2 billion or something close to that.   Now we are told that Obama Care reportedly has some hidden costs that amount to another 50 billion per year!  You can read more about that at Investment Watchblog.com.  Peter Principle or Deceit?

President Obama submitted a budget last year but I heard it was so bad (weak) that not one Senator voted in favor of it.  The Senate has not submitted a budget in nearly three years!  Do you think Obama could ask Harry Reid to get to work?  Obama is the President and Head of the Democrat Party.  Failure to lead.  Peter Principle or Dereliction of Duty?

Obama’s Cap and Trade bill couldn’t find its way through Congress either.  So, what has the “O” done.  He’s expanded big time  appointing Czars of this and that.  Now we have departments and agencies run by individuals appointed (Not Elected) establishing laws and regulations,  bypassing Congress.  Example:  The EPA has now instituted new regulations for utilities that are actually going to cause them to shut down some coal fired plants rather than retooling them.  Retooling to meet the new regulations would simply be too expensive.  The result could very well be Higher Utility Rates.  Why?  Less generating capability while our demand is increasing.    Peter Principle or Deceit?

America’s President has done nothing to solve the problem concerning the funding of its entitlement programs, the two major ones being Social Security and Medicare.  Social Security for the first time is expected to payout more than it takes in.  America’s baby boomers are about to enroll in both and the draw down will be huge.  Obama’s failure to either discuss seriously or even encourage the House and Senate to work on real entitlement reform has those programs working their way to insolvency.  Peter Principle or Just Plain Stupid?

After the S & P Downgrade it took the “O” several days to make a statement about it.  So what was up with that?  Then when he decided to speak, he showed up 50 minutes late.  Writing and Rewriting?  Who knows.  Then when he did speak, he really didn’t say anything new.  He did try to rebuke any blame that his administration might be at fault.  Earthquakes and the Arab Spring seemed to be major culprits.  Geez!  Peter Principle or Misleader?  More about the 3 Day,  50 Minute late,  15 Minute Presser can be found Here and Here.

The list could go on and on but you get the idea.  The President has done virtually nothing about anything.  He currently doesn’t seem to be overly concerned about America’s credit downgrade or high unemployment rate.  He won’t call Congress back to Washington and tell them to get to work.  If you’re unemployed, you should be going nuts!  It’s so important that we keep working on correcting America’s economic course.  The President seems as though he just doesn’t care.  Peter Principle or Lost In Space?

Just Asking.
